            Hiram Martinez

Hiram was born and raised in Santiago, Dominican Republic.

Hiram's feature comedy, "Ansiedad," about a little girl who orchestrates her own coming-of-age story, is in production for a 2011 release with Patricia Riggen (Under the Same Moon) directing and Eva Mendes starring. Ansiedad was a 2009 Nicholl Finalist.

Recent writing credits include the screenplay adaptation of "Dusty and the Big Bad World" for Jon Hamm and Jennifer Westfeldt's Points West Pictures and the series "Life With Girls" for CBS Studios.

Hiram wrote and directed the feature Four Dead Batteries, winner of Best Screenplay, Best Feature, and Best Comedy awards during its festival run. The movie was named a "Critic's Favorite" by the Village Voice.

Specs include an untitled road comedy about an estranged father and son, a TV pilot, "The Fighting Kind," set in the underground world of cockfighting, and "Wife Fight," a feature comedy about two best friends whose wives declare war on each other. He plans to direct his screwball comedy, "A Perfectly Normal Woman," about a chromosomally-challenged heroine's quest for acceptance and love.

An accomplished editor, Hiram has seen both political coasts during his work on Fox News's "The O'Reilly Factor" and more recently MSNBC's "Countdown With Keith Olbermann".

Hiram is represented by Todd Hoffman and Mark Gordon of ICM and managed by Diane McGee of McGee Creative.
