            Matt McClure


            Matt grew up in Glasgow's south side and fell in love with acting while attending Shawlands Academy Secondary School. At age 14 he joined the Glasgow Schools Youth Theatre where he performed in leading roles like Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors to a sold out Mitchell Theatre. In 2002 he landed the part of Jamie in BBC Digital's Yo! Diary!

            After finishing school, Matt studied Acting & Performance at Langside College in Glasgow. During his studies he became a member of the XLC Theatre Group and went on to enjoy critical acclaim for his portrayal of Will Guthrie in Sunset Song and Haemon in Antigone at the Citizens Theatre.

            Graduating in 2007, Matt landed a national campaign and became known as the Face of Project Scotland. He then went on to play roles in Outpost directed by Steve Barker and River City. Working closely with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, he landed the lead in Paperskin directed by Stephen Ferguson. He enjoyed success in other acclaimed short films Dry Your Eyes directed by Paul Allison and The Pedestrian (Audience Award winner at the Glasgow Short Film Festival) directed by Stuart Elliott. Matt also starred in Mixed Messages directed by Andy Cassels which went on to win Best Comedy at the New York International Film Festival in 2011.

            Matt moved to London in 2011 and has recently completed filming along side John Hannah and Martin Compston in The Wee Man directed by Ray Burdis.
